An addicted inventor and an entrepreneur, Osman has been involved in every aspect of early stage technology commercialization. Prior to Wintherix and Epitherix, Osman founded several successful start-ups, including Genoptix (went public and subsequently was acquired by Novartis), E-tenna (co-founder; company was sold to Intel and Titan), Dynamic Connections, Asyset and Orimedix. In a previous life, he was a Venture Capitalist for Pequot Ventures with a focus on communications infrastructure. With a background in physics, mathematics, biology and economics, Osman excels in, and more importantly enjoys immensely, solving complex multi-disciplinary problems whose business and technological challenges are intertwined. He earned his PhD in Applied Physics from UC San Diego with an emphasis in Biophotonics and Optoelectronics, his BS in Electrical Engineering from Caltech and his BA in Mathematical Economics from Pomona College, where he won the Cook Memorial Award as the top Economics student in his class. And when he was a youngster, he won the under-16 European Math Championship. Osman spends his free time being a father and playing go, as well as playing in poker tournaments whenever he has extra time (which is pretty much never anymore).
